Nothing Bundt Cakes expands with four new North Texas locations

Nothing Bundt Cakes is expanding its presence to bring more of the specialty brand’s signature Bundt cakes to customers across North Texas. The retailer, assisted by Venture Commercial Real Estate, has completed four leases in Arlington, Frisco, Flower Mound and Rockwall.
Nothing Bundt Cakes entered the North Texas market in 2007 with its Southlake store and has since added locations in Dallas, Fort Worth, and McKinney. The four new leases will bring the total to eight locations open by the end of 2011, with plans to open stores in Plano and the Lake Highlands area in 2012.
"As the specialty brand market continues to thrive despite a depressed economy, we believe now is a great time to expand the Nothing Bundt Cakes franchise," said Craig Moore, president of Nothing Bundt Cakes and a North Texas franchisee. "Site selection is an important part of our growth strategy, as we want to be the first to find locations that are accessible to our broad customer base."
The Arlington store opened in August at The Village at Sports Center at 5001 South Cooper Street, joining other tenants including Smashburger, Chipotle, and Zio’s Italian Kitchen. The Frisco location opened in October in the Frisco Corners 1 shopping center at the southwest corner of Preston Road and Lebanon Road. The Flower Mound store, at 3634 Cross Timbers Road next to Edible Arrangements, will open in early November. The Rockwall store will be located at 1035 E Interstate 30 in the Plaza at Rockwall.
Elizabeth Ellenwood of Venture Commercial represented Nothing Bundt Cakes in all of the leases. The landlords were represented by Scott Rose of The Retail Connection in Arlington; Scottie Breault of Duggan Realty Advisors in Frisco; Mark Cohen of CenterPoint Commercial Properties in Flower Mound; and Dorinda Cavender of The Woodmont Company in Rockwall.
Nothing Bundt Cakes was founded in 1997 in Las Vegas by Dena Tripp and Debra Shwetz. Known for its pure ingredients, handcrafted recipes and imaginative decorations, the company now has 31 retail locations across the U.S.
